Garra rufa fish (also known as Nibble-fish, Dr Fish, Spa-fish and Kangal Fish), originate from the Northern and Central Middle East regions. For hundreds of years, these small fish have been used to treat a number of skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, acne and hard skin. Although the fishes do not provide the patients with a complete cure, they have proven to significantly alleviate the symptoms.

In a spa environment, Garra rufa fish nibble on the skin, removing dead cells as a natural means of exfoliation. The result is softer and healthier looking skin. Besides their 'nibbling' abilities, the fish secrete the enzyme Dithranol (a compound found in many dermatological creams) which helps in healthy skin regeneration and vitalization.
